You can map Single-Select, Multi-Select, and User options to a Parent field value with the filtering/mapping feature. This allows you to display specific options from your Select and Users fields based on another field’s value. You can use any Field Type as your Parent Value and map them to your Single-Select, Multiple-Select or User fields.

EXAMPLE:

When an Industry is chosen in a field, it will display only specific Users

List of Industries

What Field Types can be used as Parent Fields to map to Single-Select, Multi-Select, and User fields?

You can use most Field Types as the Parent field and then map the Parent field values to Single-Select, Multi-Select or Users. For Parent fields that aren’t Select or User fields, you’ll be able to enter in Values.

How to Map Your Fields in On2Air Forms

  • Choose your Single-Select, Multi-Select, or User field from the Fields menu

  • Choose the Parent Mapping menu and click Enable Parent Mapping

  • Select your Parent Field
  • Your Parent Field is the field your form user will complete first. The value from this field determines the Single-Select, Multi-Select, or User Field options. Parent Fields can be almost any field type.

  • Click Field Mapping

  • If your Parent Field is a Single-Select, Multi-Select, or User Field, you’ll see a list of values from your Airtable field in the Parent Values column

  • If your Parent Field is not a Single-Select, Multi-Select, or User Field, you’ll need to create Values in the Parent Values column.

  • To create Values, click Add New, enter in a Value, then click Done. Add as many Values as you need.

Additional Mapping Settings

  • Allow Partial Match - if enabled, a parent field value can partially match the parent values and the form user will be able to choose from the mapped options

  • Disable on Empty Parent - if enabled, the Select or User field will be disabled completely if no value is entered into the Parent Field
